Sporting Clays

Sporting clays is a classic American tradition with some surprising positive health benefits. As you are focused on eyeing up the target and predicting its course, all the muscles in your body, especially your upper body, are working very hard to keep balanced and prepared to fire accurately, while readying for the force of the gun’s release. You are getting a full-body workout without even noticing. Sporting clays shooting also requires an enormous amount of concentration, which gives your mind a break from the negative thought-patterns associated with stress, anxiety and other mental health conditions.

Point, focus, breathe and shoot. You won’t be disappointed.

Our Sporting Clay Experience

Everything you need for a one-of-a-kind sporting clay adventure is available at Three Forks Ranch. We will provide a loaner gun, ammunition and other supplies — the only thing you will need is a willingness to learn and a sense of excitement.

Whether you choose our 50- or 100-round Colorado sporting clay course, our shooting stations will throw your targets in varying directions to keep you on your toes. The clays will move in and out of trees, sail across open fields or run close to the group to keep you constantly looking for the next target.

Depending on your skill level and preferences, we can also throw clays as singles, report pairs — we'll launch the second target after hearing the first gunshot — or simultaneous pairs —we will throw two clays at once.
